Valery Lloyd-Watts began her performing career at the age of 12 when she performed with the Vancouver Youth Orchestra in Vancouver, British Columbia. By age 16 she had performed with the Vancouver Symphony and shortly thereafter left to study at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto as the Eaton Scholar. She also attended the Royal College of Music in London, England as a Foundation Scholar. At 19 she was invited by the BBC to perform the world premiere of the Fricker Toccata for Piano and Orchestra with the Liverpool Philharmonic. She has also been soloist several times with the McGill Chamber Orchestra and presented a solo concert at the 1976 Olympic Games.

Ms. Lloyd-Watts earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin, where she studied with Paul Badura-Skoda. During this time she began her study of the Suzuki approach to early music education, particularly as it applied to piano. She has co-authored the text Studying Suzuki Piano: More Than Music, which was endorsed by Dr. Suzuki and is translated into Japanese and German. Ms. Lloyd-Watts currently resides and teaches in Kingston, Ontario and continues to perform throughout North America.
